What is an ICC Profile?
An ICC (International Colour Consortium) profile is a set of data that characterises the colour attributes of a device - mapped between the device source and the profile connection space. Every device that displays colour can be assigned an ICC profile, defining the colours that will be displayed by that operating system, once the profile has been matched and implemented, the colour wll be displayed as intended.
What is the difference between RGB, CMYK and L*A*B Colour spaces?
The RGB colour model stores the values of red, green and blue - RGB values are commonly used for digital images. The CMYK colour model stores the values cyan, magenta, yellow and black, these values are used for the print process, and defines the kind of inks that are used. L*a*b is defined by the Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage (CIE) and is modelled on a colour opponent theory that states two colours cannot be red and green or blue or yellow at the same time. This model helps to identify colour inconsistencies, offering designers greater control.
