What is the difference between Adobe Captivate and Articulate Storyline?
Both of the applications are e-learning packages with similar functionality in general although within the detail of specific elements there are numerous variations. Captivate has been an established market leader for some time however Storyline is relatively new within the space in comparison but gained positive feedback from users with additional features and the simplicity of the functionality. There is also a big difference in the pricing structure which must be considered within the context of a purchasing choice. Captivate is also pending an upgrade with updated functionality.
Which eLearning application is best suited to my project needs?
Adobe Captivate and Articulate Storyline both provide suitable features for building e-learning projects and whilst each have their merits with different features the choice of application will often come to expectations of project output and compatibility with other creators and developers within a company workflow.
What is the best course to get started in eLearning project building?
Whether you are looking to get going with eLearning design in Adobe Captivate or Articulate Storyline the classic starting courses are the 2 Day Introduction courses in either application which cover the fundamental skills in each. For those looking to develop further into more advanced areas there is the 3 Day Introduction Masterclass for Storyline and the 4 Day Introduction Masterclass for Adobe Captivate.

I do not enjoy the remote experience of learning but this was delivered in a useful way. Would have liked more time to practice as did feel the speed of the course was rather fast

provided a good overall educational experience and covered all the relevant sections of the program to a satisfactory degree. Overall, Simon was great and the course covered a lot in 2 days. We had plenty of opportunity to ask questions and covered enough content to confidently go and play with the application. It would have been great to view more working examples of Storyline projects and then unpick how they were put together - this would require a longer course than 2 days though.

Fantastic few days of training - trainer Simon was knowledgeable and helpful, but also very responsive and flexible according to the varying needs of each of the learners. Plenty of opportunities to practise, ask questions and clarify understanding, and great group dynamic in the room. Really enjoyed this course!

My only comment would be that we did not get the joining instructions and meeting invitation until the day before the course which I understood why when I rang to ask if we were getting them but if I hadn't put it in my diary it could of been forgotten about quite easily. Not sure if there is a way you can send a placeholder invite confirming place booked and you will receive links and instructions a day before the course as you can just update that initial invite.

Trainer was incredibly knowledgeable about the subject, and very adaptable and flexible with the learner group - at no time did I feel rushed or lost. I particularly enjoyed that we were able to use live content to play around with as opposed to just learning the theory.

The course was well structured and covered the basics of using Articulate. Having taken part in a course on Articulate previously, there was a lot of material that was a good refresher but there were also a number of new things I picked up during the course which will be helpful going forward. The course also covered some new advanced content that I will have to practice more on to help me use Articulate more effecrtively.

Course led and delivered really well, good pace and interaction. Possibly could spend less time on topics that aren't essential or going to be used to focus on others. Training room has good facilities but don't like being in window less rooms! Joining email said lunch voucher could be used at various places - this was not the case as just a Sainsburys voucher given. Thank you for the knowledge, I now look forward to putting it into practice!

Very comprehensive course, certainly gave a brilliant view of what goes on 'under the hood', as well as covering all of the key functionality of Storyline. My thanks to Simon, very knowledgeable and a jolly nice chap! My only constructive feedback would be not mixing virtual with F2F delivery - very challenging for the trainer to juggle two audience and delivery medium types.

Mark was brilliant throughout and extremely knowledgeable. He supported us throughout even going above and beyond in helping us get access to the various resources required for the session. Due to our systems and protections in place, downloading files from external websites or emails can be challenging and can take up to a week to get approved. Having access to these files earlier would be beneficial.

The training delivered by Mark was great. A lot to take in having no prior knowledge of Adobe Captivate but Mark allowed for questions and opportunity to revisit elements as required. One area that did cause some stress / frustration was the sharing of files prior to sessions. We encountered problems in getting files to download that our IT dept couldn't resolve. If files had been shared sooner we may have been able to get a resolve in time for session starting. Mark was great at sharing the files we need in the chat during the session though so all worked out in the end.

Simon was a great instructor - super-knowledgeable about the software to a very high degree. He was organised, punctual and had clear learning materials (which I will save and reuse). We covered quite a lot of ground during the session (as requested) and he responded appropriately, going at my learning pace - fast/slow as required. He answered all my questions about the software and I was happy with how the training session went. Thanks Simon! :)

I think it would have been better if we had all made an entire presentation together from start to finish - I would follow along with what Simon did quite well and he was great but I wanted to have a go and allow myself to break it - this is probably maybe what i'll do following the course however.
