What is the difference between Adobe Captivate and Articulate Storyline?
Both of the applications are e-learning packages with similar functionality in general although within the detail of specific elements there are numerous variations. Captivate has been an established market leader for some time however Storyline is relatively new within the space in comparison but gained positive feedback from users with additional features and the simplicity of the functionality. There is also a big difference in the pricing structure which must be considered within the context of a purchasing choice. Captivate is also pending an upgrade with updated functionality.
Which eLearning application is best suited to my project needs?
Adobe Captivate and Articulate Storyline both provide suitable features for building e-learning projects and whilst each have their merits with different features the choice of application will often come to expectations of project output and compatibility with other creators and developers within a company workflow.
What is the best course to get started in eLearning project building?
Whether you are looking to get going with eLearning design in Adobe Captivate or Articulate Storyline the classic starting courses are the 2 Day Introduction courses in either application which cover the fundamental skills in each. For those looking to develop further into more advanced areas there is the 3 Day Introduction Masterclass for Storyline and the 4 Day Introduction Masterclass for Adobe Captivate.

Simon was patient and always willing to answer any questions, no matter each delegate's issue, small or large. His knowledge and ability to fix these issues was a testament to his excellent knowledge. There was plenty of time at the end to uncover any issues or personal questions we had regarding our own jobs and projects coming up too.

Absolutely fantastic instructor - honestly probably the best course I've ever done. Would 100% recommend Alan and the training centre for any future courses. Very clearly explained everything, went into detail, didn't feel worried asking for advice or help when needed. 10/10, really interesting couple of days, learnt so much and really eager to start implementing new skills. Allen has brough this training to life, over the two days he has taken the time to run through not only the mechanics but also the why - when things go wrong he uses it as an opportunity to show us how we can learn from it and recover. Throughout he has adapted to how we best learn - and provided us with confidence to ask questions. I am excited to apply what I have learnt. I dont think i have ever enjoyed a training course as much as this one.

Simon's extensive knowledge has been very be useful when working through this course. It was great to have a refresh of some of the introductory course content to ease us in to the course and his hints and tips throughout will prove to be very beneficial when I apply them to my future projects.

Simon was very friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable throughout the day. He delivered each topic in a clear and bitesize way, which made the content easier to digest. That said, as this was an advanced one-day session, a lot was understandably covered in a short amount of time. I did find that several topics were only briefly introduced before being set aside, with the explanation that while they were interesting or "cool" features, they might not be relevant to our day-to-day use of Articulate. In those cases, we were advised to refer to the manual for further detail. Given that, I’d suggest focusing the session more on the features that are likely to be genuinely useful in practical use, and leaving the less essential or more niche topics within the manual for optional exploration.

I have a very insightful experience. The trainer provided insight and went back on things when asked for further clarity. The training group was relatively small with similar levels of understanding of Articulate. Overall it has been a very good course with a lot of information to take away and put into practice. Excellent work from the instructor, very knowledgable and helpful at all skill levels. made sure everyone was keeping up with each lesson and didn't leave anyone behind. Was also able to help with more technical questions. He even came back on the second day with answers asked on the first day. 10/10

The overhall course is quite good. Mark's PC was very slow dealing with the tool and the Zoom app, but he took a very good attitude using that loading time to follow the excercises with us and telling us tips and tricks.

Overall, Simon was great and the course covered a lot in 2 days. We had plenty of opportunity to ask questions and covered enough content to confidently go and play with the application. It would have been great to view more working examples of Storyline projects and then unpick how they were put together - this would require a longer course than 2 days though.

Fantastic few days of training - trainer Simon was knowledgeable and helpful, but also very responsive and flexible according to the varying needs of each of the learners. My only comment would be that we did not get the joining instructions and meeting invitation until the day before the course which I understood why when I rang to ask if we were getting them but if I hadn't put it in my diary it could of been forgotten about quite easily. Not sure if there is a way you can send a placeholder invite confirming place booked and you will receive links and instructions a day before the course as you can just update that initial invite.
