This 2-day Introduction course helps you learn about the tools and features available in Adobe InDesign CC. We will help you understand how this industry-leading program takes desktop publishing and design to a new level, and combines production power and creative freedom with tight integration with Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat software. You will learn to create attractive, simple documents and prepare them for the web and for print. We will guide you in learning the work area, working with text and graphics, creating simple vector-based graphics, and the basics of design. You will also learn how to apply consistency to your text through the use of paragraph and character styles.

This course is provided at the XChange Training Manchester training centre based at:

Manchester
M1 2APPiccadilly House is located in the heart of Manchester directly next to the Piccadilly Gardens transport interchange with excellent bus and tram connections and is easily accessed from Piccadilly train Station (5 mins). Victoria station is also close by (around 10 mins).
Daily course times run between 10am and 4:30pm with an hour break for lunch and both mid morning and mid-afternoon refreshment breaks. We recommend arrival at 9.45am for registration on the first day of the course.

The course was an excellent introduction to Indesign. There was lots of content. Donna, the instructor was really knowledgeable and approachable. I did struggle to keep up with some topics that were not familiar to me. But I have come away from the course with much more knowledge than I had before and with the course files and notes I have plenty to work with to move forward with Indesign.

The course gave an excellent intro into indesign and helped me unlearn lots of bad habits I've picked up from trying to teach myself! The desktop set up was great - really useful to be able to see the screen and follow along. Donna was really knowledgeable and gave clear, easy to follow instructions helping to demystify all the different tools and make them easier to use. The content covered feels like a great starting point to take forward for my current needs. I would definitely recommend the course to my colleagues/friends!

I had used InDesign slightly before this course but had no clue how to sett up documents from scratch, from doing this course I now believe I can create files from scratch and have learned extremely helpful tips and tricks with using InDesign. I would not recommend grouping one person with another large group from another company. It becomes focused on their needs and requirements, and the other person often feels as if their requirements are not considered. There were many occassions where what was being talked about at considerable length was very specific to the other group and not me at all, but there was no time to explore areas that were relevant for me and my job.

I really enjoyed both days of the course. Phil was great and very patient with explaining all the functions and answering our questions. Literally the only comment I might have would be possibly adding some time for "assignments" like 20 minutes to put together a design based on explained functions.
